What should your client know about you?
It’s important to keep in mind that, my top priority for each one of my clients is their mental well-being. I am thankful to be considered as a partner on my client’s path to mental healing and growth. I am a dedicated and compassionate therapist and I wholeheartedly believe that engaging in therapy to work through challenges is a transformative and empowering decision.
What is your approach to therapy?
Integration is the key to my therapeutic work. Personally I love tailoring therapy services to my client to fit their needs in the best way to help them reach their goals. That could and often does look like merging Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with Solution Focused Therapy or Narrative Therapy. In the end, my firm belief is that this space belongs to my client. My client is the expert of themselves, even though it may not feel like it.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
Every session my clients can expect to takeway something to consider for the week, something to ponder, or something to ask themselves. I do not believe in “homework” but, I do believe in leaving my clients with something to engage in and work on during the time we’re not together. After all, that is where the real therapy is happening – outside of the session.
What was your path on becoming a therapist?
It was a long journey and frankly, the most rewarding thing I have done in my life outside of becoming a mom. I received my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with an Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have been practicing as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and Associate Professional Clinical Counselor for about 3 years now. My journey continues as a Doctoral student at Loma Linda’s Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy program. I genuinely feel privileged to serve the individuals in our community.
