What should your client know about you?
I have background in medical case management in the home healthcare industry. Personal and social work background with End-of-Life issues. I have Research knowledge and background, including Alzheimer’s Related Dementia.
What is your approach to therapy?
I have Practicum therapy training and skillset development with Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Problem-Solving Therapy (PST). I also have developed further on my case management skills.
What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I am strong when it comes to empathizing with clients. I provide advocacy on behalf of the clients. The clients will be actively involved in the sessions as well as incorporating learned problem solving skills in the clients personal life.
What was your path on becoming a therapist?
My background includes assessments of client eligibility for Meals-on-Wheels and Roving Pantry (grocery shopping and delivery) for adults over 60 years of age and/or disabled people in the their respective communities. I have experience in counseling hospice clients and their families on End-of-Life issues. I have performed psycholgical assessments for home health clients to determine needed resources and services on health care for stay-in-place clients to maintain in their homes. I am a contributing member on a Real World Translation Work Group on Alzheimer’s research. I have Bachelor of Science degree in Gerontology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. I have a Master of Arts degree in Aging Studies. I am currently a second semester MSW student at USC. My ultimate objective when I complete the MSW program in 2026, is to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. My areas of interests are mental health and wellbeing for older adults, grief and bereavement counseling, and research.
