Clients should know that I aim to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they can feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. As a first-generation Hispanic therapist who grew up in a low-income community and navigated personal hardships, I bring both professional training and a lived understanding of resilience, cultural values, and systemic challenges. I value authenticity and collaboration in therapy and believe each person is the expert of their own life. My role is to help clients gain insight, build coping skills, and feel empowered to make meaningful changes that align with their values and goals.
My approach to therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I aim to bring warmth into the therapeutic space while supporting clients in exercising self-determination and recognizing their own strengths and capacity for change. I integrate evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral strategies, mindfulness, and somatic techniques to help incorporate awareness of the body and nervous system into the healing process. I also use trauma-informed care to help clients better understand patterns, regulate emotions, and develop healthier coping skills. My goal is to support clients in building insight, resilience, and confidence as they navigate life’s challenges.
Clients should leave sessions feeling heard, supported, and with a greater understanding of themselves and their experiences. I aim for clients to gain tools they can use outside of therapy, whether that involves managing stress, improving communication, setting boundaries, or approaching challenges with greater clarity and confidence. Ultimately, therapy should help clients feel more capable of navigating life with increased self-awareness and emotional balance.
My path to becoming a therapist began through internships in school settings and in the mental health unit at Twin Towers Correctional Facility. I later spent several years working in public mental health with low-income communities, supporting children, adolescents, and families. Through this work, I gained experience helping clients navigate anxiety, trauma, family conflict, and life stressors. These experiences shaped my trauma-informed, compassionate approach and strengthened my commitment to helping individuals build insight, resilience, and healthier coping strategies.
