I have decades of experience as a therapist and love to see if my training and experience can be of value to clients. In addition to therapy for anxiety, depression, and many other challenges people face, I provide therapy for Insomnia and for smoking cessation. I am a hetero cis-male; my pronouns are he, him, his; am married and have a daughter and a grandson.
Each person deserves to be treated as a unique individual and two strengths I have toward that goal are patience and the ability to listen fully. I work to identify specific issues which can be addressed by techniques from schools of thought such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
My intention is for clients to gain greater self-acceptance plus psychological tools, attitudes, and insights that can help them achieve what they seek. They also can expect to be accepted for who they are, without judgment.
Psychology and being of service to others have held life-long fascination and appeal for me. I took a psychology class in high school and it immediately became my major in college and from there I kept going for the doctoral degree and state license. Part of the incentive for that focus was a desire to understand the troubles in my family of origin, plus, I like people. I am pleased to have a career that actually makes a difference in the world.
